Our rich multicultural heritage of community dancing is still going strong throughout the USA and Canada and has been exported to many other countries. Unfortunately, too many Americans think of this as dancing for gym class, or retired businessmen and their wives who like to wear costumes. Our traditional dancing was essential mortar that held our communities together. To play together, to hold hands, to work together to build something beautiful in the dance is an artistic representation of what we are trying to do with our communities.
